ANTIQUE WELSH TEXTILES FROM THE FAMILY OF WELSH ARTIST CAREY MORRIS (1882-1968), including three Paisley shawls, one double-sided with all-over interlocking woven orange design 172 x 172cms, the other with repeated printed boteh on half black and ivory field 153 x 153cms, third with floral printed design on brown 170 x 170cms, Buddhist symbol printed scarf 84 x 84cms, rose medallion and classical column scarf 100 x100cms, red Paisley printed scarf 106 x 106cms, blue-grey and salmon pink waffle blanket 200 x 200cms, various cotton whiteware girls undergarments and Christening robes, variously wrapped in Western Mail 1949, Daily Express 1949, South Wales Evening Post 1949, and Western Telegraph 1969 newspaper dating to the death and subsequent dispersal of contents from Carey Morris' home Provenance: Cary Morris; thence by descent.
